Pusa Basmati Rice is a hybrid variety of rice grown in the Haryana and Punjab regions of India. It has a thin grain with an average length of 7.35 MM – 7.5 MM and an elongation ratio of 2.5 times. The main difference between Traditional Basmati Rice and Pusa Basmati Rice is the length of the grain. Pusa Basmati rice is longer than Traditional Basmati Rice both before and after cooking. Additionally, the grain of Pusa Basmati rice is thinner than that of Traditional Basmati Rice.
